Can you believe we are almost half way into the year? It was just January right?! Many of us have claimed and declared that this will be the best year of our lives. So many people set goals and resolutions for a new year and before January is even over they have already failed with the plans they’ve set out for their success journey.
Well, it is now April! Have you dominated this year or have you been procrastinating? Have you given up already or are you truly determined to make this year your best year and knock down every barrier that stands in the way of your success? I created this 2016 Monthly Wall Calendar to keep you motivated daily and keep track of your monthly goals and action steps. Post this wall calendar somewhere visible and a place where you will see it daily and it will serve as a daily reminder of what you should be working toward daily.
Now is the time to figure it out! The great thing about a new month and even a new day is that you have the opportunity to start fresh. But, don’t get to comfortable knowing that each day you have the opportunity to start over. If you keep starting over you will never get anything accomplished.
The key to getting it right the first time is to plan strategically. I have created The Everyday Planning Kit to help you along your success journey.
Each month create 3 monthly goals that you must accomplish. Work on your goals consistently each day in order to achieve your goals.
- Every Sunday, schedule your week in advance. Write down all your tasks and assignments that need to be completed. Scheduling your week in advance allows you to save time during the week. Each day you will know exactly what it is that you should be working on and completing. It also helps you to prioritize so that you are working toward the most important goals first. Without scheduling your week you will waste time each day trying to figure out “what should I be working on”.
- Always write down everything! If you don’t you will forget important tasks and set yourself further away from accomplishing your goal. You have no time to waste and you can’t remember everything so write it down.
- Create a strategic action plan for each goal. For each goal, write down all the steps needed to complete your goal, execute it properly and accomplish it in a timely manner. Schedule these action steps through the week and month. Check them off your to do list as you complete them so that you can keep track of what is completed and what is still outstanding.
- Continue to track your progress and reevaluate as needed. Most people give up on their goals because they didn’t go as planned. Don’t get discouraged. Give yourself a little more time, re-evaluate your progress and deadlines, and work harder to make sure that you stay on track.
Bonus: Get an accountability partner! Someone who will give you that extra push when you fee like giving up. Someone who will hold you accountable for the goals you have set. One thing we neglect to face is that we can’t do everything alone. If you don’t have one, join our Facebook Group community today at Creative CoLAB Community.
One key to executing you goals is to be consistent. Everyday your should working toward bring your goal to life even if it is as small as sending an email, making a phone call, or setting up a coffee date session.
If you really want to make this year your best year yet, just make it happen. Do less talking and more executing. Let you actions speak for themselves and stop creating excuses and simply make adjustments. You can do it! Stay focused! A new month will be here before you know it.
